标准文献元数据是对标准文献资源结构化描述的数据。标准文献从其产生到最终由用户使用的传递过程有着收集、加工、合成、利用等方面的诸多环节,通过元数据描述信息资源或数据本身的特征和属性,规定数字化信息组织,满足标准文献信息管理与检索需求,实现标准文献信息资源的共享和交换。标准文献元数据分为标准文献核心元数据和标准文献公共元数据,元数据的具体元素可采用摘要表示和字典表示两种方法进行描述。
