1983年的诺贝尔物理学奖得主,是一位印度裔的美籍学者,叫钱德拉塞卡(S.Chandrasekhar),他的一本书《真理与美》(Truth and Beauty),前不久由湖南科技出版社出了中译本,译者改题为《莎士比亚、牛顿和贝多芬:不同的创造模式》,其实它是书中一篇文章的题目,拿来作全书之名,也很好。钱氏书中赞同地提到别人的一段话:“阿基米德或牛顿这样的科学家,每隔五百年才有一个;而爱因斯坦和玻尔,则每隔一百年就可望出现一到两个。”由于我个人对爱因斯坦崇拜得不得了,视为天人,认为怎么评价都不过份,所以这段话多少使我吃了一惊,
