珍珠岩(含松脂岩,下同)在高温(1300℃)条件下,体积迅速膨胀数倍至数十倍,烧制成膨胀珍珠岩,是一种超轻质、高效能的保温材料和新型的建材原料,七十年代以来得到了广泛的应用。因此近年来珍珠岩的找矿和质量评价问题引起了地质和建材等部门的重视。由于研究不够,质量评价准则和工业指标极不一致,概括起来有五种情况:1.以工业实验为依据。用拣块做小工业实验,有的整个矿体只取两个大样做工业实验。它的缺点是代表性极差,且一般单位无实验设备,对外委托困难;2.以H_2O~+的多少做为评价矿石质量的标准。
