c -fos基因编码的FOS蛋白是一种核蛋白 ,各种致痫刺激均可使c-fos迅速表达。因此c -fos作为神经功能活动的代谢性标志物 ,在癫痫研究中被大量应用。根据c -fosmRNA或FOS蛋白在致痫刺激后的表达顺序 ,可以对不同癫痫模型的癫痫起源和传播进行定位和示踪。通过定性、半定量或定量分析c -fos表达程度的高低 ,可以判断某药物或其他相关因素在治疗或致痫作用中的大小。应用c -fos时还需注意c-fosmRNA和FOS蛋白的表达有可能不一致 ,不同的实验方法和试剂对实验结果也有一定的影响
