通过对严复所译《法意》首段与1752年纳琴特英文版首段以及与张雁深所译《论法的精神》首段之比较研究,我们发现,严复的翻译可圈可点,这是其一。其二,严复据英文版所进行的翻译并非完全不如张雁深据法文版所进行的翻译。其三,严复在进行翻译之际,实有自己比较系统的翻译的思想。最后,笔者认为翻译不可能绝对的真(同),也不可能绝对的伪(异)。翻译不是一种固定的文化存在样式,它是充满活力的,永远处于不断沟通的动态过程之中。
Through a comparative study of Yan Fu’s translation of the first paragraph of “Leninism” and the first paragraph of the English version of Nachint in 1752 and the first paragraph of “The Spirit of the Law” translated by Zhang Yanshen, we find that Yan Fu’s translation is remarkable. It is one of them. Second, Yan Fu’s translation from the English version was not entirely inferior to Zhang Yanshen’s translation in French. Third, when Yan Fu was carrying out translation, he actually had his own idea of systematic translation. Finally, the author believes that translation cannot be absolutely true (the same), nor can it be absolute pseudo (exclusive). Translation is not a fixed form of cultural existence. It is full of vitality and is always in a dynamic process of constant communication.
