为了发芽迅速并达到最高的发芽率,油棕种子必须经过高温处理。经处理的种子如果不能立即发芽,可以贮藏起来。贮藏的条件和时间,目前还未确定。这里做了二个试验研究,结果表明:Dura型的油棕种子经热处理后,含有118%的原始水分,可贮藏在密闭的聚乙烯塑料袋内。贮藏期的长短随温度而变化。在20℃和28℃时,种子能分别贮藏19周和24周。温度为30℃时,种子贮藏10周,发芽力就受损害。在二个较高的温度条件下,种子水分下降很快;在5℃低温下,种子生活力早期就趋向下降。
In order to germinate quickly and achieve the highest germination rate, oil palm seeds must be treated at high temperatures. Treated seeds can be stored if they do not germinate immediately.
