民国时期,傅振伦、邵纯熙、茅宗杰、朱自清、朱光潜等学者立足于当时的大量歌谣材料,以现代学术意识,从歌谣功能和歌谣创作两个方面就歌谣起源问题提出了个人观点,如情感说、劳动说、个人创作说、二重创作说。这些观点都是基于歌谣的某一方面而提出的,带有一定的片面性;但它们却满足了当时人们对歌谣起源问题的了解,拓宽了歌谣研究的视野和界限,从而极大地推动了歌谣研究。
