众所周知,自19世纪以来,西方艺术史学界流行艺术史社会学的研究方法,学者们往往注重将外在的社会环境与艺术结合的研究,乃至将绘画纳入整个社会文化的领域去观照。这种研究方法之新颖、切入角度之独特,能为中国的绘画史研究提供新的启示。后来随着国际学术交流的日益频繁,这种研究方法传入中国,并对中国的美术史研究产生了深远影响。陈洪绶研究起步于中国大陆,有关他的生平事迹,在其生前身后,即不断被记载、著录、研究,但首先值得关注的成果则来自于美国、日本。正是他们的研究进一步引发了中国的陈洪绶研究向细致化、精微化发展。20世纪中期之前,相关陈洪绶的记录撰述大多是零散的、片段的,而对其绘画风格的评析也是经验的,缺乏一定的系统性。而20世纪80年代以来,这种状况得以改观,陈洪绶研究逐渐步入正规,海内外的美术史学界出现了一系列的研究成果,美国克利夫兰美术博物馆研究院何惠鉴、日本奈良大学教授古原宏伸先后发表了《南陈北崔》《陈洪绶试论》,成为当时最为深入的、最有影响的研究论文。笔者研究资料、研读相关论文,编译了古原宏伸《陈洪绶试论》一文,以期对该课题的深入展开提供帮助和启示。古原宏伸(日本)的《陈洪绶试论》(上、下)发表在1966年的日本期刊杂志《美术史》第62期,原文来源于日本东京图书馆。

The original article “The History of Chen Hongshou” (upper and lower) by Kuhara Hirofumi (Japan) was published in the 62nd issue of Japanese art magazine “Art History” in 1966, originally from the Tokyo Library of Japan.
