毛主席在六十年代,曾说过新诗“迄未成功”的话。我的理解,这是与古诗的影响相对而言的,并非全盘否定新诗。当时,不少人对此估价心中存有异议,特别是写新诗的诗人。然而,时隔30多年,我倒觉得这话对今天新诗状况的估价,仍有其现实意义,应该加以深入探讨,找出新诗创作尚未成功的原因,以促进新诗的发展。新诗之尚未成功,其根据我以为有以下数点:一,当代新诗能给人心灵以艺术震撼力的作品委实不多;而苍白、平庸、迎合时尚、玩弄意象、追求“先锋”、晦涩猎奇的作品则大量存在。二,新诗,在一般读者的心
