According to Allied Business Intelligence, the market for optical add-drop multiplexers (OADMs) will increase from $ 3.8 billion in 2000 to more than $ 4 billion in 2006. The growing demand for dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) systems and the widespread use of more expensive reconfigurable OADM systems will lead to an average annual growth rate of 53% in this market.
