自从1990年以来,日本NHK电视台就一直在播送1125行高保真高清晰度电视节目,每天通过卫星广播9个小时的节目。据估计,在日本,每台大约5000至6000美元的模拟1125行高分辨率电视机1995年就卖出将近100,000台。在日本,还有一些商业电视台正在播送一种新的525行提高了清晰度、模拟方式、宽屏幕电视格式,称之宽屏清楚电视。预计到1999年,日本1125和新型525行的宽得电视的普及率将会达到80％,新型525行宽屏电视在以后也许会更多。
Since 1990, Japan’s NHK television station has been broadcasting 1125 high-fidelity high-definition television programs and broadcasting 9 hours of satellite-based programs daily. It is estimated that in Japan, almost 1,500 analog high-resolution television sets of 1125 lines per set sold about 100,000 units in 1995. In Japan, there are some commercial television stations that are broadcasting a new 525-line enhanced definition, analog, and wide-screen television format called widescreen clear TVs. It is estimated that by 1999, the broad-based TV penetration rate of Japan’s 1125 and new 525 lines will reach 80%, and the new 525-line widescreen television may have more in the future.
