欧美国家有个迷信习惯,对十三这个数字非常忌讳。人们尽量在日常生活中避免和十三打交道。如在荷兰,你就难以找到第十三号的房子,因为他们早已用十二号A取代十三号。在英国的剧院里, 也找不到第十三排第十三号的座位;不过在法国巴黎的剧院里,人们可以发现一种变通的做法:在十二号与十四号之间,开一条人行通道。美国一些电影院的座位也避免用十三这个号数;有些戏院虽然有十三号的座位,但票价只收一半,尽管如此,仍然无人光顾。人们也忌讳十三日出外旅行。但是最忌讳的是十三个人共进晚餐。
Europe and the United States have a superstition, the number 13 is very taboo. People try to avoid dealing with thirteen in their daily lives.
