高居翰《画家生涯》一书向我们揭示了中国古代画家与赞助人之间错综复杂的利益关系。西方“艺术赞助人”的模式对中国艺术史研究产生重要影响。而关于高居翰将西方“艺术赞助人”模式引入中国艺术史研究的做法已有许多不同认识。通过对于中西方有关赞助人的回馈方式与赞助人的决定权的比较研究,可以发现“艺术赞助人”模式不能简单地套用到中国艺术史研究中,但它的确以研究的新视角、新方法,带来了很大的启发。
Cohen’s book, The Painter’s Career, reveals to us the intricate interests between ancient Chinese painters and patrons. The Western model of “art patronage” has an important influence on the study of Chinese art history. There have been many different understandings about the introduction of the “art patronage” model of the West by Gaojian into the study of the history of Chinese art. Through a comparative study of the sponsor’s feedback and the sponsor’s decision power between China and the West, we can find that the model of “artistic patronage” can not simply be applied to the study of Chinese art history. However, it does make a new perspective of research, The new method has brought great inspiration.
