BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVE: Ezrin (Ezrin), a cytoskeletal and cytosolic connexin, is thought to be involved in the development of tumors. It is a hot topic in tumor metastasis in recent years. However, the relationship between Ezrin and the development and progression of colorectal cancer is unclear . This study was to investigate the expression of Ezrin in sporadic colorectal cancer and its clinicopathological significance. Methods: The expression of Ezrin in 132 cases of sporadic colorectal cancer and 43 cases of adjacent normal mucosa was detected by EnV ision immunohistochemistry. The expression of Ezrin was detected by EnV ision immunohistochemistry in 74 patients with metastasis and 58 patients without metastasis Group comparison. Results: ① The positive rate of Ezrin in colorectal cancer (79.5%) was significantly higher than that in adjacent normal mucosa (11.6%) (P <0.001); ② The positive rate of Ezrin in metastasis group (86.5% (P <0.001). The expression of Ezrin in colorectal cancer was significantly higher than that in the non-metastatic group (31.7%) (P <0.001) , Gender, tumor size, site of occurrence, degree of differentiation, depth of invasion and other clinicopathological parameters (P> 0.05). CONCLUSION: The increased expression of Ezrin is closely related to the metastasis of colorectal cancer. The expression of Ezrin may play a crucial role in the metastasis of tumor cells from cytoplasm to membrane and may be used as a clinical marker for detecting the metastasis of colorectal cancer Prognosis and other biological behavior of important reference indicators.
