为进一步做好综合减灾与科技减灾工作,2001年底江西省成立了减灾委员会。其主要职责是:研究制定全省减灾工作的方针、政策和规划,组织开展重大减灾活动,指导协调各地和有关部门开展减灾工作,推进减灾国际国内交流与合作。由于该机构的委员会主任由常务副省长担任、主管副省长任副主任,有关减灾的各职能部门负责人为委员,成为全国此类机构建制中,与国家减灾委接轨最吻合的省份之一。江西省减灾委员会成员单位主要职责为:
In order to further improve comprehensive disaster reduction and scientific and technological disaster reduction, a disaster reduction committee was set up in Jiangxi Province in late 2001. Its main responsibilities include: studying and formulating guidelines, policies and plans for disaster reduction in the whole province, organizing major disaster reduction activities, guiding and coordinating the work of disaster reduction among all localities and relevant departments, and promoting international and domestic exchanges and cooperation in disaster reduction. Since the director of the committee is headed by the executive vice governor, the vice governor in charge of the deputy director and the head of each functional department in charge of disaster reduction are members, becoming one of the most consistent provinces in the establishment of such institutions across the country and with the National Disaster Reduction Commission . Jiangxi Province Disaster Reduction Committee members main responsibilities are:
