Generally believed that the concept of social responsibility investment (SRI) originated in the religious doctrine. In the early 20th century, the Church demanded its followers not to invest their capital in industries that violated religious ethics, such as alcohol, tobacco, gambling and pornography, thus opening the curtain on humankind’s more responsible investment. With the global economic development and social progress, SRI continues to develop and is the first to be enriched and improved in developed economies.
