2000年6月,河北省正定县房管所在住宅楼施工时发现一巨型石龟碑座及残碑。县文物保管所立即派员到现场调查,经报请河北省文物局批准后,会同石家庄市文物局组成考古队,在当地进行了抢救性发掘。出土了一巨型石龟碑座和残碑,并将出土文物运至城内开元寺保管(图一、二)。现将发掘情况简报如下。一钻探情况巨碑出土地点位于正定县城内民主街路 June 2000, Zhengding County, Hebei Province, housing construction where found in a giant stone tortoise Block and residual monument.
