Recently, I attended the future conference in beautiful Chile and had the opportunity to travel to the southernmost point of Latin America. I also produced a broadcast documentary entitled “Fixing Globalization” for the BBC. In the documentary, I traveled back and forth across the UK looking for good ways to improve some aspects of globalization and with some prominent experts on current issues. What I saw and heard in both activities convinced me that there had long been someone who defended globalization. Today’s Chile is the richest country in Latin America with a per capita GDP of 23,000 U.S. dollars, which is close to the level of the Central European countries.
