The biennial CCTV National Youth Singer Contest has been one of the main ways for China’s vocal music industry to launch new work for newcomers since it was founded in 1984. In 2006, at the Twelfth Singer Contest, a Korean girl of only 22 years old at that time won the Silver Prize of Original Singing with her magnanimous and natural performance. She is from Bian Yinghua, a Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in Jilin Province. When the Korean folk song “Arirang” sang from the young girl’s throat, the original ecological and capable singing features dumped an audience and became a beautiful folk song in people’s hearts. Bian Yinghua, the girl who has been adhering to folk songs for more than 10 years, is singing in her original color full of love and passion for life.
