In recent years, grapes have become one of the fruits commonly eaten by our people. Grapes have been cultivated in our country for more than 2,000 years. However, until the liberation period, only a few sporadic provinces and regions such as Xinjiang and Hebei had sporadic cultivation and few varieties. After the liberation, especially since the Great Leap Forward, China’s grape growing industry has achieved great development. Now, its production areas are spread over a dozen provinces and regions. Only in the Yellow River’s old road that spans Henan, Shandong, Jiangsu, and Anhui provinces, hundreds of large- and medium-sized grape production bases have been established. The fine varieties make it possible to change the wasteland that is full of wind and sand, and the wasteland of grass and trees into a dark, fruitful vineyard.
