Joseph Warren Stilwell (1883-1946) is a U.S. professional soldier. After his first visit to China in 1911, he came to China many times in his life and traveled to almost half of China. It has made extensive contact with all walks of life in Chinese society and is a well-known “China Link.” He is a man of “integrity,” “evil,” “he never welcomes people whom he does not admire, as the dumbfounded man can not speak.” 1935-1939 before and after the Lugouqiao Incident, Stilwell served as a military attache to Colonel of the United States Embassy in China. He is very concerned and sympathetic to the anti-Japanese struggle of the Chinese military and people and cherishes the Chinese people and the Chinese Communist Party.
