石涛在《画语录》的《兼字章》中说:“天能授人以法,不能授人以功:天能授人以画,不能授人以变……天之授人也,因其可授而授之,亦有大知而大授,小知而小授也。所以古今字画,本之天而全之人也。”大自然能给人以美感,这是建立在人具有感受美的能力这一基础上的。但是有的人感觉敏锐,于是从大自然中获得的审美感觉十分丰富;有的人感觉迟钝,于是从大自然中获得的审美感受十分贫乏。所以说,古往今来,书画艺术的本源在大自然,但是能否在书画艺术领域内取得突出的成绩,却全靠个人主观的努力和奋斗。
