The polyhalite (K_2SO_4 · MgSO_4 · 2CaSO_4 · 2H_2O) is a widely distributed potash mineral, which is distributed in almost all sulphate-type potash deposits. The Lower Triad Turfanopoula-Halogen Deposit in Poland is an important industrial deposit, with a small amount of polyhalite often found in most chloride-type potash deposits. Polyhalite is one of the most easily preserved potassium salts. The New Mexico potash deposit in the United States discovered further potash salt after the discovery of polyhalite in petroleum drilling cuttings.
