皮拉·苏塔姆(Pira Sudham)是当代泰国著名的英语作家,有着丰富的流散经历。本文首先介绍了他的一篇访谈式散文《老农和他的妻子》,并着重阐释了文中一对泰国东北部农民夫妇关于家乡土地的叙述及丰富寓意,揭示了作为流散作家的皮拉·苏塔姆一方面通过解读土地寓意极力追寻自我民族文化特性。同时,又通过描写老农夫妇对土地、家庭、人之间关系发生变化而产生许多困惑,揭示发展中国家的流散作家受西方生态文化文学意识影响,以土地伦理视角反思工业化背景下本民族的土地、人、家庭之间的关系,表达这些流散作家对本族文化的生态思考。
Pira Sudham is a famous contemporary English writer in Thailand, with a wealth of experience of exile. This article first introduces one of his interviewed essays “The Old Peasants and His Wife” and focuses on a narrative and rich meaning of peasant couples in northeastern Thailand about the homeland land. It reveals that Peila Su On the one hand, Tam tries hard to trace the self-national cultural characteristics by interpreting the moral meaning of the land. At the same time, it also gives rise to many confusions by describing the changes of relations between land, families and people caused by old peasants and husbands. It reveals that the dispersed writers in developing countries are influenced by Western eco-cultural and literary consciousness and reflect on the land of their own people under the background of industrialization from the perspective of land ethics , People and family, to express the ecological thinking of these scattered writers on their own culture.
