在光通讯技术发展的过程中,光纤波分复用技术是光通讯发展史上的一个里程碑式的进步。目前光波复用技术分简单波分复用WDM,粗波分复用(CWDM),密集型波分复用(DWDM)等几种,简单波分技术WDM也就是使用常用的波长为1310nm/1550nm两个光波复用,目前在光通讯领域正发展的如火如荼。DWDM使用信道间隔0.8nm不同波段的光波在一根光纤中传输,由于成本及技术的限制,目前还在实验阶段,没有在大规模应用。相对而言,当前CWDM技术采用常用的1260~1610nm的波段、信道间隔20nm为一个波长在一根光纤中进行数据传输,由于技术成熟,并且成本相对较低,是当前光通讯领域重点发展的技术。
