从1832年国内第一种中文期刊问世到1949年这一百多年里,我国出版的期刊数量相当大。由于旧中国图书馆事业落后,期刊采集保存等工作存在严重缺陷,加上政局动乱,交通不便,以及期刊出版时断时续,给征订工作带来许多困难,以致许多刊物未能保存下来。而频繁的战争使图书馆在大批的期刊又遭佚散,故当时的期刊保存至今的已不太多,大部份藏于国内几十个大型图书馆中。这批刊物记录了我国解放前的政治、经济、文化、
From the publication of the first Chinese periodical in 1832 in China to 1949, the number of periodicals published in our country was quite large. Due to the laggards of the old Chinese libraries, the serious defects in the collection and preservation of periodicals, coupled with the political turmoil, inconvenient transportation and the intermittent publication of periodicals, many difficulties have arisen in the subscription process and many publications have not been preserved. Frequent wars left the library in a large number of journals again, so that there were not too many journals in existence so far, most of which were hidden in dozens of large libraries in China. These publications record the political, economic, cultural, social,
