根据汪家屯侏罗系火山岩储层的岩心资料、测井资料对其岩性、物性及测井响应特征做了较全面的分析,指出该区火山岩储层岩性按成因可划分为熔岩、火山碎屑岩和过渡岩;储层物性属低孔、低渗型,储集空间孔隙占总面孔率的90%以上,裂缝不足5%,但对各种孔隙却起到连通作用;测井响应中的密度、自然伽马、自然能谱可将该区的安山岩、流纹岩和凝灰岩很好的区分开;利用电阻率成象、声波成象及倾角资料处理可识别裂缝;同时发现该区火山岩测井响应的密度值与孔隙度之间具有很好的相关性
