菱角是一种营养丰富的猪饲料,它能在冰下越冬,春季又长出水面,群众称为水上庄稼。菱角适应性、繁殖力强、产量高。一般泥底水深1～5米的水面都可以放养,不用年年施肥和栽培。它的茎蔓可随水的深度生长,一年可采收2～3茬,据庄河县尖山公社浪窝庙水库测定,每亩水面产萎角茎蔓10万斤左右。
