Astronomers first proposed in 1988 an assumption that the two mutually rotating stars would pass through a supermassive black hole in the center of the galaxy at a very short distance, and this dependence would be broken. One of the stars will orbit the black hole, while the other star will be ejected as a stone that flies away from the slingshot. In our galaxy, this happens only once every 100,000 years. A research team led by Warren Brown, a Harvard-Smithsonian astrophysicist, has now discovered an expelled star.
