BH-501在外形设计和操作使用上的特色便是简洁。耳机采用了后挂毒式设计，弹性支架可以折叠，便于日常携带。两个大大的圆形听筒造型酷似蠹外星人的一对大眼睛，摆在一起感觉非常可爱。此外在听筒架上还设有看0似鱼鳍的软胶突起，用来帮助将耳机挂在耳骨上，海绵听筒罩与耳廓贴合紧密，隔音效果不错。
