Gothic art is a unique art form that extends Western culture from architecture to literature and art. Pervasive Gothic art in British and American theater and literature is reflected in many aspects, such as the environmental background, the characters and the theme of the story. To understand the infiltration of this art technique into English and American drama literature can not only better understand the scope and extent of its influence on artistic creation on the one hand, but also help the audience better appreciate this unique aesthetic existence. This article introduces the main features of Gothic art, and then analyzes its infiltration in British and American theater literature.
