2014年安妮·贝克的剧作《电影》夺得了年度普利策戏剧大奖。从表面上看,该剧从场景描绘、人物塑造到情节设置似乎均无特别之处,甚至显得过于平庸、温和。然而,该剧将场景安排在一个普通、衰败的电影院,通过戏剧讲电影,将戏剧与电影融合的构思本身就体现了作者的匠心独运。剧中元戏剧手法的借用、冲突的巧妙设置体现了该剧的独特艺术价值。更重要的是,作者借戏剧再现这家电影院从胶片电影到数码电影的转换过程,微妙地反映了传统艺术与现代科技的较量,同时也揭示了时代变化带来的诸多社会问题。
In 2014 Anne Beck’s play “The Movie” won the annual Pulitzer Drama Awards. On the surface, the play does not seem to have anything special to portray from the scene, the characterization to the plot setting, and even seems too mediocre and moderate. However, the play arranges the scenes in an ordinary, decaying movie theater, and the idea of combining drama and film through theater plays itself manifests the author’s inventiveness. The borrowing of the dramas and operas in the play and the ingenious setting of conflicts reflect the unique artistic value of the play. More importantly, the author replaces this cinema’s transition from film to digital with a drama, which subtly reflects the contest between traditional art and modern science and technology and reveals many social problems caused by the changing times.
