1927年大革命失败后,中共中央机关从武汉迁回上海,原来半公开发行的中央机关报《向导》被迫停刊。同年10月,中共中央决定在上海重新出版中央机关报,定名为《布尔塞维克》。该刊创刊号于1927年10月24日出版。开始为16开本,每周出版1期,每期30页至40页,约3万字左右。到1928年2月27日第19期出版后,中间休刊三个月,从复刊的第20期起,改为每半月或10日出版1期。从1928年11月1日第2卷第1期起,又改为每月出版1期,每期100页至130页,约8万字左右。自1929年第2卷第7期起,由16开本改为32开本,每期100页至150页不等,
After the failure of the Great Revolution in 1927, the Central Government’s authorities were relocated from Wuhan to Shanghai. The “guidance” of the Central Organ News, which was originally issued semi-openly, was forced to cease publication. In October the same year, the CPC Central Committee decided to republish the Central Organ Newspaper in Shanghai and name it “Boursevik.” The first issue of the journal was published on October 24, 1927.
