1977年5月24日,第三次复出的邓小平《尊重知识,尊重人才》的讲话暗示着被废除了10年的高考有重新开科的可能。经过44天的争论,当年10月,教育部终于拿出可行性方案。当年冬,500多万从十五、六岁到三十六岁的应考者涌进考场,在中断了10年后,大学的车轮重新滚动。恢复高考是一个国家和时代的拐点,更是许多人的人生拐点。
On May 24, 1977, Deng Xiaoping’s speech titled “Respecting Knowledge and Respecting Talents”, which came back for the third time, hinted at the possibility of re-opening the college entrance examination which was abolished for 10 years. After 44 days of debate, in October of that year, the Ministry of Education finally came up with a feasibility plan. In the winter, more than 5 million candidates from the age of fifteen and six to thirty-six were pouring into the examination room. After ten years of interruption, the university’s wheels re-rolled. Resumption of college entrance examination is a turning point in the country and the times, but also turning point in the life of many people.
