在中国古代思想史中,"适"曾作为不同领域的范畴被使用,它作为审美鉴赏的范畴始于<庄子>而确立于<吕氏春秋>中.且它形成了一个以自己为中心的家族概念群,如自适、适意、畅适、闲适、忘适之适等.其基本特征有4个方面:"适"是一种自由的审美境界、心境心态的谐和、主客体同构的存在、审美规律的表征.
