至1995年底,全国商品房已空置5000万平方米.到1996年底如销售情况仍不理想,那么目前在建的4亿平方米商品房中又有一部分竣工房屋并入空置之列;与此相对应的则是全国城市中尚有400万户人均居住面积在4平方米以下的住房困难户,有19个省、自治区城市居民人均住房面积低于全国平均水平.全国城市中还有近5成的住房不配套,使用功能不全,有4000万平方米危险住房需要改造.这确是一组鲜明的、值得我们业内人士认真思考的数字.
