As a pioneer of the feminist movement in the 19th century, Charlotte Bronte discarded the traditional “genius and beauty” novel creation. With realistic brush strokes, she portrays a new image of women who are daring to resist and courageous in pursuit of free love. In the novel Bertha, the artistic image of mad woman, has its source of life and psychological foundation. As a reflection of the writer’s consciousness, literary works will inevitably reflect the writing mentality of writers to a certain extent. Works to our enlightenment: as an independent, complete artistic image, her birth and existence has some inherent inevitability.
