自王安忆提出“四不要”小说创作理论以来,她的创作就一直围绕着着“四不要”原则展开,作品也大都运用了“四不要”原则,即:不要特殊环境特殊人物,不要材料太多,不要语言的风格化,不要独特性。这是王安忆自己对叙述方式的突破和创新。《纪实与虚构》也基本体现了这一创作理论,从“四不要”出发来探寻《纪实与虚构》,进行分析和研究,能更好地去把握王安忆所追求的文学思想,更好的理解《纪实与虚构》一书蕴含的意义。
