1983～1984年从农民大田中收集到的一个黄沙逊(Brassica campestris var.yellow sarson)品系PYS-81-2 中发现4株雄性不育株。雄性不育性并不与形态或花器官的畸形相联系。雄性不育株的株高、分校形式、叶片大小和颜色都正常,但是在蕾花期,观察到花瓣大小、形状、雄蕊和心皮的长度有所不同。雄性不育花朵的花瓣较窄,颜色暗淡,花药和花丝较短,花药奶白色,无花粉,与正常花比较,其心皮长而厚。
Four male-sterile plants were found in PYS-81-2, a strain of Brassica campestris var. Yellow sarson collected from farmer fields in 1983-1984. Male sterility is not associated with morphological or floral malformations. The plant height, branch format, leaf size and color of the male-sterile plants were all normal, but the petal size, shape, stamens and carpels were observed to vary in length at the flowering stage. Male sterile flower petals narrower, dark color, anthers and filaments shorter anthers milk white, pollen, compared with the normal flowers, the long and thick carpels.
