程丛林是我们比较熟悉的艺术家。早在1979年,他便以他的 《1968年×月×日雪》而饮誉中国画坛,掀开了中国新时期美术的序幕。正当新潮涌动之际,他又负笈欧洋,潜心于纯正油画养分的汲取。 他的艺术经历是很多长年在海外的艺术家所共同拥有的。在大陆成长、受教育、到成为国人皆知的大红大紫的著名艺术家,在面对完全陌生的生存环境、隔膜、孤独、尤其是自己所钟情的油画,在其故乡遭遇到了被忘却的命运。可梦想依旧,生命因这梦想才在那忧患的岁月中放出光彩。 有的人很快弃艺从商,有的人短时间内便投身到西方的当代艺术语境。可有的人不行,油画之梦已生长在血液里。程丛林便易属于这种人。 本刊选择他作为本期《艺术界》的封面人,其一是向所有海外中国艺术家,表现我们对涉取异域文化创造新的艺术文化形态的支持态度;其二是以程丛林为个例,更多地展示他们多年来在异域工作的成绩。 有鉴于此,程丛林说出他十多年来的异域从艺的感受、可能比别人对他的评说更有令人深思之处。 这是本刊改变“封面人故事”的形式,刊发他自述的原因。
Cheng Conglin is a more familiar artist. As early as 1979, he celebrated Chinese painting with his “1968 × month × day snow” and opened the prelude of art in the new era in China. Just as the trendy surging, he also held the European Union, with great concentration on the pure drawing of nutrients. His artistic experience is shared by many overseas artists for many years. The famous artist who grew up in the mainland and became educated to make a big name in everybody’s life encountered a forgotten fate in his hometown in the face of completely unfamiliar living conditions, diaphragms, loneliness, and especially his favorite paintings . Dream can still be, life is only because of this dream to give glory years. Some people quickly renounce their art from business, while others soon join the Western context of contemporary art. Some people can not, the dream of painting has grown in the blood. Cheng Conglin easily belong to such people. The magazine chooses him as the cover person of this issue of the “art world”. One is to express to all overseas Chinese artists their support for the creation of new artistic and cultural forms involving foreign cultures. The second is to take Cheng Conglin as an example , More to show their achievements over the years in different places. In view of this, Cheng Conglin said that over the past 10 years, his experience of exotic arts may be more thought-provoking than others’ comments on him. This is why we published the story of the “cover story” and published the reason why we read it.
