20世纪上半叶,作为注重诗歌审美意识、语言模式和文化属性等方面建设的一种理论形态,中国现代象征主义诗学在诗歌本质、艺术形式和审美风格等方面阐发了一系列重要的核心命题,建构起一个相对独立的本体世界。其与现代新诗、西方象征主义诗学、中国古典诗学之间的关系,使得自身在理论和批评的建构过程中呈现出显在的排他性、锐意的变革性、西方的参照性和隐在的传统性等鲜明的现代特质。
