The exciting discoveries in the drylands of Africa pose a challenge to the widely acclaimed agricultural origin hypothesis. For more than three decades, the Middle East has long been regarded as the cradle of human civilization, with domestication of plants and animals dating from 10,000 to 9,000 years ago. However, scholars have different opinions on the precise location of acclimatization, as well as the climatic conditions and population pressures that have led to the invention of grain production. The consensus is that the grain production took place in the last ice of a million years ago
