FOXP3 ~ + regulatory T cells (Tregs) are a subset of T lymphocytes that exert immunosuppressive and regulatory functions. The physiological plasticity of FOXP3 ~ + is essential for the maintenance of immune homeostasis. The imbalance of FOXP3 ~ + Treg function stability is closely related to the occurrence and development of major human diseases such as autoimmune diseases, tumors, allergic and infectious diseases. Forkhead family transcription factor FOXP3 is a key transcription factor of Treg cell-specific expression, and its functional stability is regulated by protein post-translational modification enzymes. By screening the active ingredients of traditional Chinese medicine and developing small molecule drugs targeting FOXP3 posttranslational modification enzymes, the physiological functions of FOXP3 ~ + Tregs will be controlled, which will bring new ideas, new targets and new approaches for immune-related therapy of major diseases.
