沈阳杂技团对《天幻Ⅱ·太阳鸟》的艺术形式定位是“情景杂技秀”。从理论的角度讲,以“情景”和“秀”来定义杂技的表演,便可以规避诸如“主题”、“剧”一类的意义界定对杂技表演带来的限制,使杂技有了更自由的展现空间,从而也使观众对舞台上杂技的表演有了更具弹性的理解余地。就杂技理论而言,“情景杂技秀”的提出,可以说是对杂技表演艺术形式在理论界定方面一次更贴近杂技艺术本体特征的完善与提升。
