The stereotypes of women and the sexualization of women in some children’s books have infringed upon children’s rights to gender equality. Unlike stereotypes of women in children’s books, which have received much attention and are actively corrected, the problem of female sexualization in children’s books is becoming more and more global. Women’s sexualization causes the external and internal materialization of women, resulting in physical and psychological impairment of children and gender discrimination and prejudice. While advocating the government to strengthen the administration of children’s books and periodicals, the whole society, parents and schools should guide the reading of children in order to resist the stereotypes of women and the erosion of children in “sensual culture” and to raise children’s awareness of gender equality and independent personality.
