Objective To investigate the effect of vitamin E on the metabolism of glycosaminoglycan (GAG) in cultured human trabecular meshwork cells. Methods 100, 200, 400 and 800μg / ml VitE were added into the trabecular meshwork of the third to fifth generation of the method. After separation and purification, the GAG was electrophoresed on the sialic acid fiber membrane and the total amount of GAG in human eye trabecular meshwork Composition ratio. Results 100, 200, 400μg / ml VitE can increase the total amount of GAG, while increasing the composition ratio of hyaluronic acid, reducing the composition ratio of sulfur-containing GAG. VigE at 800 μg / ml reduced the total amount of GAG without changing its constituent ratio. Conclusion VitE seems to have the potential to prevent and treat POAG.
