日本电报电话(NTT)公司在其Musashino研究中心研制出宽频带综合业务数字网(E-ISDN)。欧洲在一项RACE联合开发工程中和美国贝尔中心也都在研制B-ISDN系统。但是,NTT最近开发的这个系统是一个综合式实验系统,由异步传输模(KTM)转换系统、ATM环形系统、ATM终端、转接现有接口的器件及网络模拟器构成。 NTT的试验证明了ATM的技术可行性。NTT公司将按照其Track III程序,选择一家商业性厂家,共同研制有市场活力的系统。 B-ISDN的标准化工作正在CCITT稳步开展,推荐的内容涉及到采用ATM和用户-网络接口速度。
Japan Telegraph and Telephone (NTT) Corporation has developed the Broadband Integrated Services Digital Network (E-ISDN) at its Musashino Research Center. Europe is also developing a B-ISDN system in a RACE joint development project and the Bell Center in the United States. However, the system recently developed by NTT is a comprehensive experimental system consisting of an KTM conversion system, an ATM ring system, an ATM terminal, devices that interface with existing interfaces, and a network simulator. NTT’s test proved the technical feasibility of ATM. According to its Track III program, NTT will select a commercial manufacturer to jointly develop a market-driven system. The standardization of B-ISDN is undergoing steady progress at CCITT, with recommendations for ATM and user-to-network interface speeds.
