这些年,因事务缠身,专业创作相对就减少了。在急迫与无奈中挤出时间,静心做陶,日积月累,有了这些作品。严格讲,这些陶艺作品,只是探索性的习作,摆出来,让大家批评。毋庸讳言,习作中留存着我与土、火交流的情愫。我认为,真正的陶艺创作应是心迹的物化,是心与物的合一,绝非是对物的征服和征服后的满足。我,实践着并加深着这一信念。“知者行之始,行者知之成。”如果大家能从这些作品中看到我对泥土的感知,又能从中发现土和火的自身感染力的话,那正是我所希望的。我呼吁环境艺术家们关注陶瓷材料的可用性和观赏性。它具有天然石材的坚固,却无天然石材对环境不同程序的放射性污染。就此而言,人造石优于天然石;另一方面,无处可用的陶制品其不可复生性,也会成为环境的污染物。那样的话,陶艺家无异于环境的罪人了。我曾设想,自己的观念性陶艺不用烧制,展出后让它还原为泥土。但未经烧制的泥土又缺少火的魅力,也就不成其为陶瓷艺术了。心里真矛盾。姑且两难之境取其一吧！算作给大家一次交谈的话题。
