模式化英语作文教学(俗称“英语八股文”)是我国英语课堂上普遍采用的一种教学法。“三段式作文”能有效地应付英语考试,但也让教师和学生产生这样的疑惑:难道作文就只能以这样固定的格式来写?这可能有违提倡在写作中发挥创造性的原则。但是本文试图从对比修辞学的角度分析了“三段式”在现阶段教学中的可行性,并提出巧用模式化作文有利于写作教学的观点。
Patterned English composition teaching (commonly known as “English eight-part essay”) is a teaching method commonly used in English classes in China. “Three-phase essay” can effectively deal with English exams, but it also causes confusion for teachers and students: Is composition only written in such a fixed format? This may violate the principle of promoting creativity in writing. However, this article attempts to analyze the feasibility of the “three-stage” teaching in the current stage from the perspective of comparative rhetoric, and puts forward the viewpoint that the use of the modeled composition is beneficial to writing teaching.
