This paper presents a dual-port circularly polarized microstrip antenna that can work in two circular polarizations at the same time. Its circularly polarized bandwidth increases from the usual 0.35% to 5%. Due to the loss in the dual-port load, the above improvement in bandwidth leads to a drop of about 3 dB in antenna gain. Appropriate trade-offs between these two can add new applications to this type of antenna, such as transmitting and receiving simultaneously in a dual circular polarization state. When the axial ratio is 2dB, the cross-polarization interference is -19dB; when the axial ratio is 3dB, the interference is -14dB. In addition, the paper also discusses ways to improve the isolation between the antenna ports.
